RSM Riggs here, and I've got some game-changing news that's gonna knock your boots off. Our very own Dan Barnfield, the creative behind Battalion Studios, has taken the ice by storm—by designing a brand-new jersey crest for the Calgary Mustangs minor hockey team!

The new Mustang crest for their 3rd jersey.

Ah, but this isn't just any crest. Dan's gone the extra mile, pulling inspiration straight from airplane nose art. That's right, he's infused the indomitable spirit of the P-51 Mustang right into the design! High-flying action meets on-the-ground grit, all sewn into a jersey. Now, that's what I call a tactical advantage.

But let's hear it straight from the artist himself:

“My inspiration for the crest design largely stems from delving into the history of the name 'McKnight.' The name actually honors William Lidstone McKnight (1918–1941), a WWII RAF flying ace who grew up in Calgary and went missing in action after the Battle of Britain. While designing the crest, I felt it was essential to weave that legacy into the fabric of the team's identity. And though William McKnight never piloted a P-51, his indomitable spirit resonates in every stitch.”

Ah, history and hockey, two of the finest things in life, wouldn't you agree? You bet it's gonna be a great year for the Calgary Mustangs. I, for one, can't wait to catch a game and see those jerseys in action. Keep your eyes peeled for 'em, and don't forget to show your support.

That's all for now, soldiers.

RSM Riggs, signing off. Dismissed!
